PRAYER
‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ - Philippians 4:6-7
CONTENDING FOR AWAKENING
Throughout the ages, Jesus’ church have prioritised and treasured prayer as a fundamental way that we connect with God and see His Kingdom come. Prayer sits at the heartbeat of almost every historical and recent global awakening. At Croydon Vineyard we want to build a culture of prayer and intercession all across the church that sees us increasingly become a church where:
the hand of the Lord is visibly upon us
many diverse people are united in worship of Jesus
the gospel of the Kingdom is powerfully preached
many people are coming to faith
dramatic transformation of lives is taking place
people are receiving prophetic words which show them the purpose & mission of their lives
the poor among us are valued, cared for and empowered for a better future
we raise up and send out leaders who grow the global Vineyard Movement and contribute to a lasting resurgence in the UK Church

Photo suggestion:
A warm, inviting image of a small group gathered in worship or conversation, showing diversity and genuine connection.
Orientation: vertical or portrait to sit nicely beside the text block.
Style: natural lighting, soft focus on faces, warm color tones to match the hopeful message.
Design tips
Layout: two equal-width columns on desktop; stack photo above text on mobile for readability.
Typography: use a clean, legible sans-serif for body text (e.g., 16–18px) and a slightly larger weight for the opening sentence to create emphasis.
Spacing: allow comfortable margins and 1.5 line-height for the paragraph; add 16–24px padding around the photo.
Call-to-action: add a short line beneath the paragraph with a button-style link (e.g., "Join Us This Sunday" or "Watch Online") to make it easy for people to respond.
Color: use warm, muted accent colors that complement the photo (soft golds, warm grays) to reinforce the tone of hope and welcome.
